The trunk was designed to show off the equipment and tie in with the overall theme of the vehicle. 454 SS stickers were added to the back of the Rockford P-3 subs. These are housed in a sealed enclosure with plexiglass on the back. Inside, the box is the SS logo and blue laminate to match the exterior. The rest of the box and trunk were covered in black vinyl with white piping. Along with the chrome on the amplifiers, this ties the look of the original rear bumper and original SS logo and really makes this set up look like it should have come straight from the GM factory.
With a little over 600 horses under the hood, the original system was just not going to satisfy this client. We designed a system for him using a minimum number of components and maximizing the effectiveness of each component. The doors were left untouched as this whole vehicle had just been restored. He also requested that the trunk be finished off in a way that would compliment the rest of this show piece.
