We welded up a rack to securely mount a couple of additional batteries to aid with the amplifiers current demands. A total of three optima Red Top batteries where used and all strung together with 1/0 power wire.
Kenwood's DNX 9960 was selected for navigation and DVD viewing purposes. We remote mounted an auxiliary USB port in front of the shift lever along with Rockford PEQ bass knob.
Under the rear seat we mount the two monstrous power amps. A vinyl covered trim panel was fabricated to conceal the wiring and help the 6 fans that we added below to aid in keeping the amps cool when the 4 wheelin gets tough.
Vinyl trimmed amp rack under rear seat area.
The front doors were re-worked to allow additional speakers to be added. There are 3 sets of Rockford Fosgate T2 6.5" mid-bass speakers in each front door.
the door pods where constructed out of fiber glass & MDF then covered with a matching vinyl. Behind the scene and out of site, we added 160 square feet of Second Skin sound dampening material to the doors, headliner and floor boards.
To complete the Rockford T2 speaker set, we modified the A-Pillars and mounted the three T2 tweeters.
The rear door panels remain stock with the addition of the T2 tweeter up top, the Rockford T2 5.25 woofer is behind the OE grill in the stock location.
The H2 SUT has a built in blow-through that we took advantage of. Using 1" MDF and Plexiglass we made a custom ported enclosure for the 2 RF T2 15" woofers .
The 2 woofers and the enclosure port fire through the mid-gate of the H2. With the addition of some LED lighting and vinyl trim panel it looks as good as it sounds.
Dropping the tail gate reveals the back side of the T2 15's visible through the 1" thick pexiglass. We trimmed the inside of the enclosure in black and grey vinyl with red piping and added some more LED lights inside. Notice the custom integrated center brace and the H2 logo fabricated out of 1/4" plexiglass and painted red. The rear trim panels were constructed out of 1/4 black ABS plastic to match the factory bed panels.
1 SIK H2
This H2 isn’t an all show trailer queen. The owner 4 wheels this sick H2 on a regular basis and wanted a system to match, built over the top and durable.
